The Charlie James Gallery was formed in Chinatown, Los Angeles in 2008 by collector turned gallerist Charlie James. The gallery’s ethos asserts that art should engage with the time of its making, and is known for platforming work of significant political and cultural engagement. Since its founding the gallery has established a strong reputation platforming young artists in Los Angeles and beyond.

In addition to an updated brand identity, the project includes editorial work for a gallery artist catalog (8.5” x 11”) and gallery show zine (5.5” x 8.5”).
Leña Los Angeles

Leña is a Salvadoran pop-up restaurant founded by chef Jimmy Reyes based in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Boyle Heights. Inspired by his hometown of Tejutla, Chalatenango, Leña aims to bring back the simple pleasure of enjoying a home-cooked meal.

Kenneth Mejia For City Controller

Inspired by the ubiquitous neon street posters of Los Angeles, the Kenneth Mejia for LA City Controller campaign draws upon their bold type and bright colors to grab your attention. The vivid colors make it both a part of the iconic Colby poster signage history in the city while maintaining its own unique image.

Imagined Cultures and Communities: Honduran Identity & Formation is an investigative essay on the development of visual culture in Honduras. The text explores concepts of colonialism, oppressive government structures, and the negative effects of pan-indigeneity through anecdotal reflections.
